Hamlet Downs
is a small establishment with only 4 bedrooms.
There are no internal shared facilities and each group enjoys their own modern private
suite with separate lounge and dining areas for each suite. The main area can
accommodate up to 6 persons and the King room, up to 3 persons. For more

The property
features beautiful
gardens and a 1.6 km walking track along our
water course and around the ponds specially designed to view
platypus* and birds in the wild
(over 30 types in summer).
We offer the option of Room only, Bed
and
Breakfast or for the discerning traveller, the
complete dinner, bed
and
breakfast
package.
Breakfasts range from continental or cooked to full meals with all the
trimmings. For guests wanting Self
Contained,
we can
provide full breakfast provisions if required.
Dinners may be ordered on the night, and beer & wine are available.
For something completely different, try
our Greek dishes or better still have a Greek Feast with 3 courses of delicious
authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Minimum of 2 persons and 24 hours notice
required to prepare these special dishes. If you are touring, ask us to prepare
a gourmet picnic hamper to help you through the day. All meals use our own home
grown ingredients like free range eggs, fruits & vegetables as they become
available.
We
maintain high standards by being an accredited business under the National Tourism Accreditation Program with the

of Tasmania and AAA

Attractions
We are the
perfect place to use as a base to explore our amazing
Tyenna
region and
southern
Tasmania. Only 10 minutes drive from
Mt Field National Park which
offers an extremely
diverse range of attractions,like the world famous Russell Falls, Lake Dobson
and the Tarn shelf. Also close by
is the South West World Heritage area featuring Lake Pedder. The
Styx valley is
also near by and is the home of the worlds tallest hardwood trees the
Australian eucalyptus.
Many other attractions are in the Tyenna region
including the new
Maydena Adventure Hub.
We are just 3 minutes
drive from
one of
Southern
Tasmania's premier trout fishing
locations, the Tyenna river renowned for the size and quality of the fish
caught. Try Lake Meadowbank on the Derwent River,
just 20 minutes from us, for salmon andtrout,

For travellers interested in our local history we
are close to the towns of Hamilton, New Norfolk and Bothwell with their many historic
buildings.
We are only 1 hour drive from
Hobart Tasmania's capital.Here you can take a
walk around historic Battery Point, the Hobart waterfront area with its many
fine restaurants, the Maritime Museum,
Cascade Brewery,
Botanical Gardens,
Cadbury's Chocolate Factory,take
a drive to the summit
of Mt Wellington for spectacular views
and on Saturday mornings take in Salamanca markets which Hobart is renowned for.
