Hamlet Downs is the ideal location to stop on your way to or from Tasmania's west coast towns of Strahan and Queenstown. In fact several days are needed to do our area justice.
Attractions* within 10 minutes drive are:
  • Mt Field National Park with the world famous Russell falls, the park for all seasons features many short and long walks displaying great diversity as well as winter snow fields and the amazing Tarn Shelf with its many exhilarating walks)
  • Tyenna river (rainbow & brown trout fishing, canoeing and swimming)
  • Something Wild wildlife sanctuary
  • Old Oust Houses where once beer hops were processed
